With the coming of the railways, Nastola, with its beautiful scenery, was seen as an attractive place to spend the summer months. The first concentration of summer residences was in the area around the church, later they spread to Salajärvi and the other lakes. After World War II, more modest summer cottages were built as the affluence of ordinary people increased. This has now become part of our history.
